Bell Gateway Building
The Bell Gateway Building is the centrepiece of the redevelopment. It brings together a variety of mood and anxiety, and addiction outpatient programs. It will also house key clinical and administrative services, research space and our client-run Out of This World Café with its own sidewalk patio.
The hub of the Queen Street site, this building is designed with an "open door" concept: a place where patients, staff, and the community can interact – an important part of this new kind of hospital. We’re creating a space where people feel comfortable seeking treatment, ultimately reducing stigma.
“There’s been a huge transformation in our attitude and our knowledge about what can be done to treat mental illness. In the world of design and architecture, my eyes have been opened to the belief that space needs to be hopeful and optimistic and connected to the world.”
