The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in its field.
CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions.
CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, is a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre and an internationally recognized leader in:
- Clinical care – treating 27,000 patients each year.
- Research – CAMH is among the top psychiatric institutions worldwide in genetics, epigenetics and brain imaging.
- Education – training 25% of all psychiatrists in Canada and 50 per cent of all psychiatrists in Ontario.
- Policy and health promotion - informing health policies across Canada and around the world.
