Lahey painted this year's signature work of art for UnMasked in response to his cross-country driving trip from Toronto to California. Lahey took the photograph that underpins this work on the beach near Carmel, and it's an image that carries a palpable charge of freedom, joy and exaltation, glimpsed against a clear blue sky.
